Elias and a Commitment to Outstanding Service
Dr. Raouf Elias, who assumed leadership of Roseville Medical Society in the 1970s, set an impressive standard of care by treating all patient concerns with the utmost sensitivity. His dedication to the community earned him a reputation throughout Newark, NJ, and the surrounding areas.
With an extensive medical background in Essex County, Dr. Elias served at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, and the former Columbus Hospital and United Hospitals in Newark. He was the medical director at Alaris Health at Cedar Grove, president of the medical staff at Columbus Hospital, and held a position on the executive board of Saint Michael’s Medical Center. His noteworthy career led to his nomination for Doctor of the Year in Essex County.
Salerno Continues the Promise of Providing Care
In 2015, Dr. Alexander G. Salerno joined Roseville Medical Society to assist his father-in-law, Dr. Elias, in providing care to families. Following Dr. Elias’ passing in February 2016, Dr. Salerno continued his legacy of building relationships with patients and the community. Today, Dr. Salerno and other physicians run Roseville Medical Society under Nirvana Healthcare Management Services, honoring Dr. Elias’ memory by following his patient-centered approach.

Dr. Alexander Salerno’s arrival at Roseville Medical Society in 2015 marked the continuation of a long history of the Salerno family serving patients in Essex County, NJ. This transition allowed Dr. Salerno to bring the compassionate, family-centered care that his parents, Drs. Alphonse and Svetlana Salerno were first introduced to East Orange in the 1950s, to Newark.
