Stephanie Campos, MSW, LCSW
Stephanie Campos is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Nirvana Healthcare Management Services, NHMS, and North Ward Behavioral Health, NWBH location. She earned her master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Work. During her graduate studies, Stephanie completed her clinical experience in residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment. Stephanie is licensed in both the state of New York and New Jersey.
She brings to Nirvana ten years of broad Clinical experience, namely: During her early career, she worked as a Case Manager at Samaritan Village’s Ed Thomson Veteran Center focused on providing clinical treatment to veterans struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders in Queens, New York. She later entered the field of Forensic Social Work working with the incarcerated population and advocating for alternatives to incarceration rights for inmates in the criminal justice system for the New York County Defender Services in Manhattan, New York. Stephanie’s career background also includes experience working for the Office of Mental Health (OMH) South Beach Psychiatric Center in Staten Island, N.Y., as Assistant Director at Grace Plaza Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Great Neck, New York. Prior to joining Nirvana, Stephanie served as a Social Worker II with Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Clinic in Queens, New York, and as an In-Home Counselor with Savia Community Counseling Services in Lodi, New Jersey. She is fluent and proficient in the Spanish language. Stephanie has extensive experience in the areas of individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, child therapy, forensic social work, social justice advocacy, and addiction counseling.
Stephanie’s responsibilities at Nirvana include providing therapeutic services to patients and their families, assisting in the development of treatment planning, and diagnosing, observing patients’ behavior, assessing their needs, and devising the implementing effective treatment strategies. She relies on evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Family Therapy, and Group Therapy. She works closely with the case management team to connect patients to resources and assistance in the community. Nirvana offers exceptional patient care, emotional support, and compassion to its patients.
