Education and Expertise:
My journey in healthcare began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ramapo College/Rutgers, where I laid the foundation for my career. Building on that, I pursued a Master of Science in Nursing-Adult NP at Hunter College-CUNY, further refining my skills in patient care. My pursuit of excellence didn’t stop there; I continued my education at Seton Hall University, where I am currently working towards a Doctor in Nursing Practice, equipping myself to provide the highest level of care possible.
Specialization and Work Experience:
Throughout my career, I’ve specialized in various areas, including neuroscience, neurosurgery, critical care, and cardiology. As a Neurosurgery APN at St. Joseph University Hospital, I have been privileged to provide inpatient care to patients with neurosurgical intervention needs, collaborating with esteemed Neurosurgeons and Critical Care Attending’s for postoperative care. At MSKCC, I served as a Neuro/Ortho Nurse Practitioner, catering to a unique oncological population, providing comprehensive care and acting as a consultant for various neurology, neurosurgery, and orthopedic cases.
During my tenure as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner with ACP-Managed Care, I delivered attentive care to the adult/gerontology population in the inpatient setting, ensuring comprehensive medical treatment with a managed-care perspective.
In my role as a Neuroscience Critical Care NP at Mercy Hospital, I provided specialized inpatient care to patients in critical care, collaborating with Neuro-intensivists and neurosurgeons to optimize their neurological treatment.
Additionally, I have worked as a Nurse Practitioner in various settings, including outpatient care for sleep disorders and cardiology patients, emphasizing patient education and preventive measures.
Teaching and Academic Engagement:
As an educator, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as an Adjunct Professor at Pace University and La Guardia Community College, where I instructed nursing students in various simulation-nursing scenarios and medical-surgical aspects of nursing practice, fostering critical thinking and evidence-based learning.
Skills and Certifications:
With a dedication to maintaining the highest standards in patient care, I hold certifications in ACLS, BLS/AED, CCRN, and NIH Stroke Scale. As a current member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Association of Critical Nurses (AACN), and American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), I stay connected with the latest advancements and best practices in the field.
