No-Show and Cancellation Policy
At Nirvana Health Management Services, we are, on behalf of your treating providers, searching for smarter ways to assist your treating providers in improving patient outcomes and increasing value in care – –To drive better results, every interaction matters.
We schedule our appointments so that each patient receives the right amount of time to be seen by our physicians and staff.
That’s why it is essential that you keep your scheduled appointment with your provider and arrive on time.
- Courtesy Reminders
Your healthcare provider has invested a lot of time to ensure each patient receives quality, convenient care. As a courtesy and to help patients remember their scheduled appointments, we send text messages and email reminders 7-days, 3-days, and 24 hours in advance of the appointment time.
Additionally, our Client Communication Center calls for final confirmation.
- 24 Hours-Notice Required for Cancellation
If your schedule changes and you cannot keep your appointment, be sure to call 973.672.8573 to reschedule to enable your treating provider to accommodate those patients who are waiting for an appointment.
As a courtesy to our office and those patients waiting to schedule with the physician, our office requires at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation.
- Automatic Cancellation
If you do not cancel/reschedule your appointment within at least 24 hours’ notice, your appointment will be automatically canceled.
An appointment that is automatically canceled may be rescheduled by calling our office at (973) 672-8573.
- No-Show Service Charge
Please be advised that we charge all patients a No-Show Service Charge for no-shows (i.e., missed appointments where the appointment has not been canceled), as applicable.
The patient is directly responsible for these charges. Covered patients will be billed directly for No Show Service Charges. No Show Service Charges will not be submitted to Medicare or other insurance for reimbursement.
- $100.00 “No Show Clinician” service charge
- $25.00 “No Show Technician” service charge
- Repeated Cancellations and/or No Shows – Default to Walk-In Appointments
In the event of two (2) no-shows or cancellations without proper notice, we may offer you walk-in appointments only, subject to availability, and no longer offer you scheduled appointments. Please be advised that repeated no-shows or cancellations may result in your discharge from the practice.
 Medicaid patients are not charged a Service Charge.
