Bela Laschiver is a veteran employee, having joined Salerno Medical Associates (SMA), now Nirvana Healthcare Management Services (NHMS), in 2006. Ms. Laschiver is a nurse practitioner, specializing in the care of adult patients. Her base of operations is Nirvana Healthcare Management Services, Park Avenue, Orange.
Ms. Laschiver is a graduate of Hunter College (Manhattan) with a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). She earned her masters of science (MS) as an adult nurse practitioner (APN-C) from the New Jersey University of Medicine and Dentistry (NJUMD). Additional professional certifications include basic cardiac life support and ACLS. Prior professional experience includes serving as a nurse practitioner, specializing in the care of stroke patients, at Overlook Hospital (Summit).
Ms. Lashiver’s primary care responsibilities are extensive: they include assessing and managing acute and chronic diseases; counseling adult patients regarding a broad spectrum of risk factors, including stress management, smoking cessation, weight management, drug addiction, and family planning. Additional responsibilities include the use of intervention strategies for the more common mental health issues that include anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, and developmental transitions. Bela also recommends and schedules gynecologic and obstetric screenings and follow-up care, provides contraceptive counseling, and educates patients on preventative care.
Bela describes her experience at Nirvana as “great.” She loves the fact that she and her colleagues are making a difference in the lives of their patients.
