Dr. Gleisy Caraballo is a compassionate and dedicated Internal Medicine physician with a strong commitment to patient advocacy, education, and equity in healthcare. Currently completing her Internal Medicine Residency at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in the Bronx (PGY-3, 2022–2025), she combines clinical excellence with leadership and emotional intelligence to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.

A proud Magna Cum Laude graduate of Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (2018), Dr. Caraballo has trained and practiced in both the Dominican Republic and the United States. Her experience spans frontline service during the COVID-19 pandemic, caring for underserved rural communities, and contributing to public health initiatives in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Dr. Caraballo has a strong passion for medical education. She served for over four years as a Professor’s Assistant in Physiology, where she mentored medical students and translated complex concepts into accessible, practical knowledge. Her dedication to teaching continues through active involvement in mentorship and peer education initiatives.

A committed advocate for healthcare equity, Dr. Caraballo serves as a delegate for the Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR), the largest house-staff union in the United States. In this role, she champions the voices of residents and works to improve patient outcomes through systemic advocacy and leadership.
