Nathan Yunker joined Nirvana Healthcare Management Services (NHMS) in 2020 as Director of Information Technology, with twenty-two years of experience in the field. He manages a staff of eight at Nirvana Healthcare Management Services headquarters in Orange.
Mr. Yunker started his career as an IT Technician for the Geek Squad (East Hanover) and for Doctor Computer (Livingston), rapidly rising to become an IT Specialist at Roseland Property Company (Short Hills). This was followed by five years with Strategic Micro Systems (Parsippany), initially as Senior Network Engineer, and subsequently as the company’s Technical Project Lead. His technical expertise is exceptionally broad, with knowledge of a wide range of platforms, protocols, hardware, and software.
Nathan’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of the following major operations: Help Desk; Data Center, IS analysis; network and telecommunications; end-user computers and devices; and coordination of internal systems with external information technology vendors.
In addition, Mr. Yunker oversees systems security backup and recovery; disaster planning; remote systems access; and regulatory compliance. He continually evaluates new hardware and software to determine whether they are necessary for meaningful upgrades. Nathan is an experienced trouble-shooter and problem-solver.
Of his experience with NHMS, Nathan describes Nirvana as “family-oriented.” He appreciates the friendly atmosphere and the emphasis on a healthy work-life balance. He also is impressed by the level of concern shown by management for the welfare of its employees. He sums it up with these words: ”Excellent care for our patients—and genuine caring for our staff.”
