Dr. Gordon Lutchman joined Nirvana Healthcare Management Services (NHMS) in 2020 as Director, Newark Vein and Vascular Center. His professional history is so long and impressive that only its highlights are provided here. He is Board-Certified in Surgery.

In his more than thirty-five-year career, Dr. Lutchman has been a physician/surgeon in private practice and a member of the hospital staff at Maimonides Medical Center/Coney Island Hospital (Brooklyn). He also served as a faculty member (23 years) and a hospital administrator (18 years) at the same institution. He is licensed to practice medicine in New York and New Jersey. From 1994 to 2011, he served as professor and chair, Department of Surgery, Saint George’s University Medical School (Grenada, West Indies); the teaching site was Coney Island Hospital (Brooklyn)

Dr. Lutchman’s fellowships include the American College of Surgeons; the Royal College of Surgeons, England; and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. Professional memberships include the American Venous and Lymphatic Society; the American College of Phlebology; the Society of Laparoscopic Surgery; and the American College of Physician Executives.

His professional awards include “Top Doctors: New York/Metropolitan Area” (2001-2022); “America’s Top Surgeons” (5 years); and “Top Doctors: Philadelphia (3 years). Dr. Lutchman is a Diplomate, American Board of Surgery; Diplomate, American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine; and a Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPHS).

As Director of the NHMS Newark Vein and Vascular Center, Dr. Lutchman oversees a staff of more than thirteen. The Center, which has IAC certification, provides treatment of venous insufficiency; endovenous laser therapy; foam sclerotherapy for varicose veins; sclerotherapy for spider veins; and referral affiliation for lymphedema.

Dr. Lutchman’s describes the Nirvana experience as “family.” He enjoys the rapport among staff members and departments and believes that the organization’s structure “promotes good communications and getting the work done.” He was impressed with the efficient transition of The Newark Vein and Vascular Center from Park Avenue to Mount Prospect Avenue, with all issues relating to the move quickly addressed and fully resolved.
