Jasmin Martinez joined Nirvana Healthcare Management (NHMS) in early 2019 as Regional Clinical Manager. She works at two of its locations: Salerno Medical Associates (SMA), East Orange, and Metropolitan Medical Group (MMG), East Orange.
Prior employment was with Union County Healthcare Associates (UCHA) in Elizabeth, and Rahway, NJ as a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) in Urgent Care/Primary Care. Jasmin is a graduate of Essex County College with an AS in general science. Her medical training includes Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) and certifications in Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED.
As Regional Clinical Manager, Ms. Martinez oversees a total of ten MAs in the two East Orange locations named above. She trains all new hires; audits documentation for accuracy and timeliness; ensures efficient patient flow, and handles patient concerns. Both practices are primary care for patients eighteen years old and up, each is staffed with two physicians, and each provides services that include internal medicine, family medicine, and women’s health. SMA has office hours on Saturdays a major convenience for patients who cannot take time off during the regular workweek.
Ms. Martinez characterizes her Nirvana experience as being “an evolving sponge.” “Sponge”— soaking up new experiences and learning from them—and “evolving”—growing and changing in positive ways. “There are opportunities to develop my knowledge and skills, using them in the office and the outside world.”
Jasmin’s most meaningful experience, so far: “Working at this practice allows me to share what I’ve learned with the MAs, my colleagues, and my patients. Nirvana is a YES culture’— one that makes all patients feel welcome cared for, and cared about.”
