Kathryn Serrano

Director of Marketing & Communications located in East Orange and Newark, NJ

Kathryn Serrano joined Nirvana Healthcare Management Services (NHMS) in early 2022 as Director of Communications and Marketing. Her base of operations is the organization’s headquarters, NHMS, in Orange.

Ms. Serrano brings to her position diverse experience as an entrepreneur, event planner, media producer, and podcaster. She is eager to promote the expanding services of NHMS to the general public, current and potential patients, and other medical and business professionals throughout northern New Jersey.

As Director of Communications, Ms. Serrano will ensure that this narrative of the company’s evolution is effectively and widely communicated via a visually engaging website and all social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok). Kathryn also will be responsible for the creation and implementation of team-building events to raise awareness of NHMS’s multiple commitments to the community through its Community Health Outreach Program (CHOP).

Kathryn has been charged with “A Mission of Transition” in that she is responsible for helping to rebrand what had been Salerno Medical Associates (SMA), which now is Nirvana Healthcare Management Services (NHMS), whose dual mission is to provide medical care to its patients and a wide range of services to the healthcare community and to the community at large.

Kathryn’s professional experience has included Director, Social Media at The Devoe Group (Hoboken), followed by Marketing Manager, Trndsttrs, LLC (Weehawken), where she produced a video that led to its live performance on MTV, and co-produced a pilot program currently under consideration by several television networks.

Kathryn is the founder of The Katosphere, which developed and implemented fund-raising events for worthy causes. These events included “Arms Reach,” “Live to Read,” “Keep a Child Alive,” “With God’s Love We Deliver,” and “Concern Worldwide.” In addition, Ms. Serrano developed a “Women’s Summit” for Women’s History Month, which featured several speakers and the short film, “A Passage to Hope.”

The word Ms. Serrano chooses when asked to describe working for NHMS is “meaningful.” This descriptor applies both to the work Nirvana is doing and to her work. “I have begun to develop meaningful relationships with many of my co-workers and feel supported and empowered by them. The best is yet to come!”
